Early Talk Boost

Early Talk Boost is a program piloted by Cornwall Council, designed to boost children’s language skills. It was developed by Speech and Language UK. Being able to talk and understand words are key skills for young children, enabling them to access all areas of the early years foundation stage curriculum (EYFS). Early Talk Boost supports a range of skills that give children’s language a boost, including attention and listening, learning and using new words and building sentences.

We run this exciting program throughout the school year for children aged 3 and above. The program will run over 9 weeks, with children taking part in small groups for approximately 15-20 minutes, 3 times a week. Each week, children will have a focus book to take home and share with parents, carers and siblings.

Parent reviews:

“There’s so much for parents and children to love about Jake and Tizzy. It promotes a love of books because of its familiar characters and colourful illustrations. They really helped boost our child’s early language because the words used in the stories are familiar and common to them! I highly recommend this program.”

“My child really enjoyed Tizzy Time. He got used to sounds, looked at words and he enjoyed telling me the story by looking at the pictures and explaining about what he saw in the pictures. It also helped with his speech, his understanding and how excited he was each day to red his book with me to see what happened next. It was our time each evening.”

“My child loved her Tizzy Time books. Every night, we would read her latest Tizzy book. She would always look forward to the which one was next. She really engaged with the books and we both thoroughly our Tizzy time at home.”

"Tizzy Time has been a wonderful way of getting our child interested an excited to read books. I think Tizzy Time has helped him to grasp important listening and concentration skills in preparing for him to start school."
